Create your first project, import a script, and restore deleted work.

MDX content system unavailable: the @next/mdx compiler is not installed, so this article is shown as source text instead of compiled MDX. Nothing is broken — install it with npm i @next/mdx @mdx-js/loader @mdx-js/react @types/mdx to render the full MDX version.

Getting Started

Start with a template or a blank project, then import any existing script to

keep writing where you left off.

How do I create my first project?

From the dashboard, click the New Project button. Choose a template or start from scratch. Give your project a name and you are ready to start writing.

How do I import an existing script?

Go to File > Import and select your .fdx (Final Draft), .fountain, or .txt file. The editor will automatically parse and format your script.

Which file formats can I import?

Open the Import page and drop a file or paste source text. Supported inputs are Final Draft (.fdx), Fountain, Highland, Fade In, Celtx, .story, plain text, and PDF via its text layer. Image-only or encrypted PDFs are not supported.

How do I restore a deleted project?

Open the Trash page. Deleted projects move there before being permanently removed. Click Restore next to a project to bring it back, or the delete control to remove it permanently.
